Welcome to the webpage of the Master’s Program in English Education Department, Sebelas Maret University.
The Master’s Program in English Education Department was established on May 25, 2005, and first admitted students in August 2005. Since then, every semester, we have continuously accepted students from various backgrounds and regions.
From its inception until this moment, we are committed to:
- Producing graduate students who are devout and pious to the One Almighty God, possess noble character, master the knowledge and technology in the field of English education, have entrepreneurial skills, and have international competitiveness.
- Generating innovative research findings as a foundation for developing knowledge and technology in the field of English education.
- Providing practical problem-solving options and approaches to empower society in the field of English education.
With the support of 13 competent and internationally reputable teaching staff, adequate facilities and infrastructure, a strong academic atmosphere, and an up-to-date curriculum, we mold students to become:
- Professional English language educators who master the English language content, various approaches, methods, or strategies for English language teaching, possess the ability to utilize information technology in English language learning, have good communication skills, possess noble character, intelligence, and proficiency, have leadership qualities, and are prepared to develop themselves to become professional educators with international competitiveness.
- Researchers in English education who are sensitive to the problems occurring in society, have good knowledge and skills in research and scientific publications, have the ability to present in academic forums, possess the ability to use information and communication technology in research, and understand research ethics and publication.
- Entrepreneurs who are capable of working independently or collaboratively with others to produce goods and/or services related to English education, such as designing English language training for specific purposes, teaching materials or training modules, and assessment systems to measure training success.
